Top search engine placement is vital to online success:

According to Forrester Research, 81% of consumers find websites via a search engine. A study at
Excite.com revealed that more than 70% of users looked at two pages of search results or fewer.
Banner ads are proven to be ineffective and the cost of traditional advertising is too expensive
and ineffective for many small and medium size businesses. Search engine marketing and top search
engine placement are proven to be cost effective ways to reach and attract qualified potential customers.

Search Engines - Nearly Twice the Traffic!
A recent study into search engine traffic has shown that the amount of referring traffic from search engines has nearly doubled! WebSideStory Inc. the creators of HitBox, a marketing analysis tool, have released this information over the past week.

WebSideStory's division of global Internet user trends, StatMarket, have shown that 13.4 percent of global referrals have come from the search engines. This is a significant jump from the previous year's stats that were at 7.1 percent.

StatMarket collects information from websites that currently use HitBox for stats. The study of global referrals consisted of over 125,000 sites using the award winning business intelligence and analytical HitBox technology.

The current trend in the study indicates that users are becoming more efficient with their usage of the web. View the stats below:

  • Direct Navigation up 15%
  • Web Links down 20%
  • Search Engines up 6%

With these stats they say two things:

  • Users are relying more heavily on search engines for research
  • Once a quality page is found, users will bookmark and go there over and over again

With these points in mind, you have to ask yourself, "Is my site in the major search engines?" If not you would be crazy not to submit your site as soon as possible. If your site isn't in the search engines, as the figures state, people won't find your site.

Make sure your site is able to be found by submitting your site to 300+ search engines including the majors using one of our submission services below:

Search Engine Myths:

  1. MYTH #1:  The more search engines that a web page is submitted to the better!  You've seen all the ads, or have received emails from companies that boast they can submit your site to hundreds - even thousands of search engines for a phenomenal price - OR - an unbelievably low price!!  BUYER BEWARE!  Don't get caught up in the hype.  They are not all bad, however, you have to know what to look for.

  2. MYTH #2:  Submit to the Most Popular Search Engines FIRST and work your way down!  There actually is a logical order in which you should be submitting your site.  If you're unsure - not to worry!  We know the logical order and can optimize your site specifically to how each individual search engine rates, indexes and ranks your site.

  3. MYTH #3:  Automated Submission Software & Services are Real Time Savers:  Not necessarily true.  Some can actually penalize you or get you banned from ever being listed on a particular search engine.  Problems which could potentially cost you more time to fix, than manually submitting properly in the first place.

What are meta tags?
The Meta tag in html is not a required tag when you're creating your web pages. The meta tag is used by search engines to allow them to more accurately list your site in their indexes. If you simply produce your home page and register the URL with a search engine, or a number of search engines, their spider programmes will eventually visit your site to index it. Each of the search engines does this slightly different. Altavista for example will grab everything in your document and index it, but will only show the first 250 characters in the description. Consequently, if your site included say; 'Thanks to:....' right at the beginning, this is what Altavista would show in it's description, and it wouldn't give the viewer any idea of what your site actually covered. Of course, not all search engines work this way, I'd suggest you ferret around a little bit to see exactly how the popular engines work, and certainly the major search engines such as Altavista, Lycos, Google, Infoseek and Excite. It therefore makes sense to ensure that your opening paragraph is carefully written to ensure it accurately reflects what your site covers. You also may be able to exert a certain amount of control over how your site is indexed by the use of the meta tag. (I should however point out that not all search engines will use this tag - Altavista does, but Excite doesn't, for example. It's not a total cure-all therefore, but you won't miss out by putting the tag in, and it may well work well in some cases.

Don't spam the search engines
People are always trying to get their pages high-ranked by cheating and adding in hundreds of repeated keywords and words that don't pertain to the content of their page. This is bad. The people who come to your page expecting one thing only to get another are just going to be upset that you tricked them and will leave. Apart from that, search engines are getting much better at seeing this happening and banning the pages they find trying to trick them.

The 5 Most Important Search Engines to be listed in:  The other 699,000 + do not matter because 97% of Internet users search using the following 5 Search Engines.

According to Nielsen/NetRatings, a company that measures the impact of the Internet and new technologies on commerce and marketing, the top five search engines during January of 2003 were Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, and Ask Jeeves. The rankings take into account the percentage of the entire Internet population that visited each site (audience reach) and the average number of minutes spent per visitor at each site. These numbers were adjusted to exclude non-search portal traffic such as email retrieval.

1. Google
The number one ranked search engine according to Nielsen/NetRatings was Google. Its audience reach was 29.5% and it had an average visit length of 28.5 minutes. To confirm that your site is in the Google database go to the Google search page and type your URL into the search field.

2. Yahoo
Nielsen/NetRatings's number two ranked search engine was Yahoo. Its audience reach was 28.9% and it had an average visit length of 11.0 minutes. To confirm that your site is in the Yahoo database go to the Yahoo search page and type your URL into the search field.

3. MSN
The number three ranked search engine according to Nielsen/NetRatings was MSN. Its audience reach was 27.6% and it had an average visit length of 8.7 minutes. To confirm that your site is in the MSN database go to the MSN search page and type your URL into the search field.

4. AOL
The fourth largest search engine in the Nielsen/NetRatings study was AOL. Its audience reach was 18.4% and it had an average visit length of 38.8 minutes. To confirm that your site is in the AOL database go to the AOL search page and type your URL into the search field.

5. Ask Jeeves
Rounding out Nielsen/NetRatings's top five search engines was AskJeeves. Its audience reach was 9.9% and it had an average visit length of 10.2 minutes. To confirm that your site is in the Ask Jeeves database go to the Ask Jeeves search page and type your URL into the search field.

Fees:

  • Search Engine Optimization & Submission (One Time) = $125.00

  • Customer Request of Ranking Report = $45.00 each time

  • Submit Ongoing (see below) = ON SALE NOW!!

Why is Ongoing Promotion so Important?  Many of our users (maybe you included) do not have the time or unfortunately can not afford the cost of continual monthly promotion and have expressed their concerns to us.

Why should web site owners not be able to afford continual promotion for their web site? What is the point in promoting your web site one month, having great traffic, leads and sales and then lose all of it the next month? It is just not right!!

We believe all users should be able to afford continual web site promotion, and it should be automatic without the web site owner having to do anything, so we have come up with a quick and easy solution!

We have slashed our "Submit ONGOING" prices just for you (our clients)!!!  And we've included Monthly Ranking Reports for FREE!! ($45.00 value for each report).

You can now receive Submit ONGOING for just $50 for the first month then $60 every month thereafter... instead of the normal price of $125 for the first month and $85 every month thereafter (that's a saving of $75 for the first month and then $25 every month thereafter)!!!  Limited Time Offer - Sale ends March 31, 2003!!

So what is Submit ONGOING?

Here is a Brief Explanation of Submit ONGOING:
Submit ONGOING powers your web site continually. The best submission service if you wish to have your web site take care of you. Wouldn't it be good if your web site is featured prominently in Search Engine "results" on a continual monthly basis?

Submit Ongoing is about adjusting and promoting each web page in your entire web site (each page has its own continuous cycle of web promotion and targets its own specific keywords). This provides a better chance for these relevant web pages (other than just your homepage) to appear well in the Search Engines "results page". Particularly useful when visitors use "specific keyword searches".
